the umbrella project!

this being the second part of our spinning tops project we have to create an umbrella based on movement, for movement i wanted to choose liquid. so i researched christopher kane's fall 2011 collection also known as the liquid collection, where he has created clutch bags and garments with heat sealed pvc with coloured gylcerins, gels and dye's mixed with vegetable oils inside. and I thought this technique could be combined with an umbrella.

so i decided to get some food dyes and cooking oils, cover my scanner in cling film, pour them on and see what happens! I GOT SO EXCITED IT WAS SO MUCH FUN AND IT LOOKS SO COOL! here are some of the images i created on the scanner, and i also did some onto paper!

pretty cool huh?! so i was thinking if the actual liquid inside pvc is not feasible to create in with georgie and the college facilities, i could somehow create it onto printed fabrics to use for the umbrella and other garments! hint gayle you can give me some suggestions please!
