Jelly Umberelly Finished photo edits

I'm achey, sore, tired, covered in feathers and netting and fed up! My fingers are sore from pricking myself with needles! I've wrecked the living room, irritated my parents, got bags under my eyes, used several million miles of thread and bought england out of pink netting!

RANT OVER.

but all in all i'm pretty proud of my umbrella :)

MY UMBRELLA DIED !!!

So, after spending a week slaving away trying to make a stupid animated umbrella, JUST when I was adding the finishing touches IT COMPLETELY BROKE!!!!!!! IT WAS ALL STUPID AND RUSTY AND ALL THE WIRE AND SPOKES HAVE BEEN DESTROYED !!!!!!! All I have to show for this project is an umbrella cover and a pile of broken metal :( !!!! What shall I do??????? :( :( Maybe I should just model the umbrella cover myself ??? It's a possibility....

Ideas & Designs

so lads - we are making a series of architectual structures inspired by spinning tops. (AAAA!) and here are some of my design pages form my book, im still not very clear about what ive got to do which is a little bit worrying as its monday tomorrow! but here you go!

Cocktail Umbrellas

I don't wanna reveal my actual umbrella yet as none of the pink netting has been sewn on yet! (I'm making a ballet/dance inspired umbrella FYI) But I finished attaching the base layer of netting which I'm tres proud of :D yipeee


but heres a few mini mock ups i did on a cocktail umbrella! So cute :) obviously not 100% accurate but there you go its fiddly stuff....

made with a cocktail umbrella, netting, split pins and white paint :) 

For some reason they won't rotate the right way up so Sozza :)

Working at home..

Hellooo, I havent blogged on here in a while.. although I have been blogging on my own ..  but basically just wanted to show you what I've been up to at home :)
I decided not to create an umbrella as such.. but make it more into a garment.. and this is what I chose to do.. aswell as taking inspiration from Viktor and Rolf, dutch designers, who work together to create beautiful couture garments such as these..

Viktor and Rolf's Spring/Summer 2010 collection. I really love the cut out's, although Gayle assures me that these parts are not cut out, and that the delicate material is acurately sewn into place to create these wonderful spaces.

And here is my inspired umbrella-dress.. not quite as magnificent.. I knoww....

This is VERY un-finished.. just to show my progress and where my ideas have come from :) Every part of the dress is made out of umbrella, apart from the stuffing and the stitching :)

I have just found this website it is similar to dafont.com but it has more unusual font like this umbrella font.....

you could use this gayle:

you can just type in anything and it will bring up loads of suggestions and it lets you preview the font you want and then copy and paste it :D

Best Art Trip ever!!!

Brighton was sooo much fun the craft fair was amazing and gave me so many ideas my favourite thing was the resin jewlery with fabric in, I would really like to try this! I also collected loads of business cards!!

Then we went SHOPPING! of course and photogrphed lots of pigeons on the lanes....

 Just realised he only has 1 leg??

Found some strange sauce bottles....

And then we went in CHOCCYWOCCYDOODAH!!! i watch there show on the telly all the time and now I have acctually been in the store!!!

Then we had lunch on the beach and photographed more birds and got very wet!! :)

The waves were huge!!

Then we watched the sunset on the way home :)

I forgot we also saw a man on the street selling amazing origami!!
