These tricky patterns

Right! I think i might have cracked it but please correct me if you've found differently!

On the instructions alot of the time it says silly things like '1/2 hip measurement' here it refers to 1/2 of the overall panel once its doubled on the fold so for the sake of the drawn pattern you need to actually do 1/4.

e.g 1 'add extra either side of 8 to give half hip measurement plus 2.5cm' work out half hip + 2.5 then divide it by 2 to make a quarter and draw it onto the panel.

e.g 2 'find the difference between this and 1/2 the actual waist measurement' because there will be two darts in the front and two in the back once its been drawn out doubled along the fold you work out quarter of the waist measurement per dart and it will be placed quarter of the way along the entire waistband which is half the way along one panel.

Also when it says 'squared down' it actually means draw a straight line down at a right angle to it.

e.g 1 'Squared down from line 0-2' means draw a line down at a right angle to that which makes line 0-4 diagonal to line 1-3.

Beacause then line 0-4 isnt straight they dont trust you not to draw other lines at the same angle as this so, when they say the darts lines are 'squared down' just draw them straight down from the top line.

here is my finished pattern...

sooo hopefully that makes a teensy weensy bit of sense :S if it doesn't tell me and i'll try and explain it another way!

Good luck x x
